On October 30th singer-songwriter Will Downing will headline the Eighth Jazz For The Park benefit concert at the renowned Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.

This year’s concert is extra special as it marks Wilson Commencement Park’s 20th anniversary. To date the agency is nationally recognized as a model for transitional housing and remains steadfast in its commitment to transforming the lives of single-parent families who, due to variety of factors (lack of educational opportunities, domestic violence, homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, inadequate family support, etc) continue to need help.

We are pleased to have confirmed Will Downing for this special occassion. Downing, the consummate soul balladeer, has secured a place for romance in R&B for the past two decades; whether putting his jazzy stamp on soul classics or spinning original tales with his own material, Downing’s heartfelt baritone captures the “comedy, tragedy and everything in between” about love unlike anyone else on the contemporary musical landscape.
